Jeimy (pronounced jay-me)

Jeimy Portillo is passionate about teaching and advocating for STEM Education; she has been given the opportunity to do it as an instructor at Rolling Robots for three years. Jeimy enjoys teaching Microbits, Scratch, LEGO Mindstorms, VEX and VEX IQ, C++ for Arduino, as well as coaching the Glendale VEX IQ Competitive Teams who had a successful 2019-2020 season qualifying for the World Championship 2020. While managing and teaching at Rolling Robots Glendale, Jeimy is completing requirements to transfer to a four-year university and achieve a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree. Recently, she was accepted to participate in the NASA L'SPACE Mission Concept Academy where she will learn NASA mission procedures and protocols from industry professionals to complete mission-related team-projects. Jeimy is active in club organizations such as Society of Women Engineers(SWE) and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers(SHPE) and volunteers in STEM Outreach Events for Adelante Youth Alliance, Tech Savvy, and Great Minds in STEM.
