Champions Again at VEX World Championship 2023
In the 2022-2023 Season, Rolling Robots' VEX Robotics Middle School Competition Teams secured the titles of State Champion, National Champion, and World Division Champion, demonstrating our students’ remarkable success!
A total of 9 Rolling Robots teams participated in the 2023 VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas, April 25 - May 4, 2023 - including five elementary school VIQC teams and four middle school VRC teams.
The Middle School Team 7700C won the Division Champion in the Engineering Division. Team 7700C also won the Create Award - the award is presented to a team whose robot design incorporates a creative engineering solution to the design challenges of this season’s game. Their achievements are the result of the team’s goal orientated planning, perseverance and pursue of engineering excellence. Team 7700C members are: Sean Pellicciarini, Daniel Fang. There were a total of 6 middle school divisions for 489 teams from 50 states of United States and 70 counties at the World Championship.
Our State and US Open Championship Champion Team 7700K was the Number 1 alliance at Division elimination rounds. However, they lost their opportunity to win the Division Champion due to an unexpected mistake. It’s disappointing, however this was a valuable lesson they learned early.
Five of nine teams are rookie teams this year. It shows that students can reach high goals if they put in their best effort. Each team has a unique path to VEX Worlds. No matter what happens, as long as they focused on learning, improving and never-giving up, the bright future will be waiting for them.
As each season in the past, our students work in teams on designing, building, coding their robots in weekly meets and competed in local tournaments, then State Championship tournaments to earn the spot at VEX Worlds. Numerous awards later, our world-class teams make it the World Championship to wrap up the season. The experience of attending the VEX Worlds opened up their view of the world and together everyone grew stronger, happier and more capable! This experience also motivated our students to learn more in the new season.
Rolling Robots’ VEX Robotics Competition Teams were formed between the beginning of the VEX a new season in May and the beginning of a new school year in September . Through the summer and many months before the VEX Worlds, Teams designed, built, and programmed their robots to play the game. Teams competed in local and state tournaments to qualify for VEX Worlds. Teams modified, rebuilt and tweaked their robots numerous times. All the members learned not only the robotics skills in building and coding but also skills in presentations, communication, negotiation, handling failure and teamwork.
Huge thanks to our sponsors and parents for your continuous support year after year. Our teams could not have this unforgettable experience without you!
In addition, Rolling Robots had a fun bonus this year - one of our long time students made it to the Thank You page of VEX Robotics 2023 VEX Worlds Cover Page!
